Why is factory farming such a big deal?

That’s a question I’m often asked. And the answer; it is the biggest cause of animal cruelty on the planet. More than that, it also uses vast amounts of land, water and oil; wasting food rather than making it. And rather than being about food production, all too often it is about fat production.

Actually, it is hard to overstate the scale of the problem, especially when two-thirds of the world’s farm animals are now caged, crammed and confined. Overcoming this threat to sustainable food production and the countryside is one of the biggest challenges of our time.

As we shake off the mid-winter festivities and square up to the year ahead, I’d like to share with you again some short video blogs I produced, tackling some of the big questions around industrial livestock production and our food.

    Animals have as much right as human beings to not feel any pain. Why do we treat animals so differently as it’s ridiculous. Animals are feeling beings just like us. Stop hurting sentient beings. Animals need looking after. Stop cruelty to animals now.
